I'm Glad You Stopped By!

Before you go, I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to my best friend. I met Him several years ago when I was just a child, but He has remained a true friend throughout all these years. He helped me make it through childhood and puberty, through High School and College, and through all my adult life. He was there at my wedding, and at the birth of my children and grandchildren. He is with me all the time and is always available to lend an ear to talk to, a shoulder to lean on, or a steady hand to guide me. I honestly do not know what I would have done without Him all these years. One thing is for sure; I want Him with me when I die, because I hate to even think what that experience would be like without Him.

You see, my friend is Jesus Christ. What makes Him so special? Well, He is the one person I know who has never said an ugly word, never cut anyone down, never held a grudge, or even been jealous. In fact, I can't think of a thing He's ever done wrong! That is why He is such a good friend.

However, the main reason I want you to meet Him is because of what He can do for your life. You see, chances are I have never met you. I don't know you, but I know at least three things about you.

1. I know that God loves you. “For God so loved the world...” John 3:16a
2. I know God has offered you a perfect gift in His Son Jesus Christ. “...that He gave His only begotten Son” John 3:16b
3. I know that if you'll receive this gift by believing in Him as your Lord and Savior, you'll have eternal life. “...that whoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16c

That's right. God wants to give you this perfect gift. But not only does He want to give you eternal life forever and ever, He also wants to give you a full and meaningful life right now. Jesus said in John 10:10b, “I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.” Now, you may be wondering, “If I put my trust in your friend, how can I be sure He will take me to heaven when I die?” Good question! Here is how you can be sure: He has already been there! And He knows how to get there. In fact, He did something no one else could ever do so that you could go there. He died in your place.

You see, because we are all sinners, we deserve death. The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23. And Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death...” So we all deserve death because we are all sinners by nature and by choice. But, Jesus died in our place. He took our punishment for us. That is why He can offer us eternal life. The rest of Romans 6:23 says, “...but the free gift of God is etrernal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Now isn't that good news?

Jesus Christ, my best friend, already loves you even before you meet Him. Now, here is how you can get to know Him personally. It is as simple as ABC:

A - Admit that you need Him in your life. Acknowledge the fact that He is perfect and you are not. Ask Him to forgive you and come into your life and be your best friend - your Savior - your Lord.
B - Believe in your heart that Jesus dies for you. Believe that he came back to life for you. Believe that He will come back for you some day and take you to heaven.
C - Confess every sin to Him. Convey to Him your desire to turn around from the way you are going, and trust Him by walking with Him for the rest of your life.

If you do those things, you can be assured of the fact that because of your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your confession of your sin, and His forgiveness of your sin, you can go to heaven when you die.

If you are willing to do those things, pray this prayer right now as best you can:

“God, I know that I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself. I believe you lived a perfect life. I believe you died for me. I believe you rose again. I confess my sin to you, and as best I can, I will try to live my life for you from this day forward. Please forgive me and come into my life. Change me and cleanse me. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for being my best friend. I am looking forward to an eternal relationship with you. I promise to find a good Bible believing church in which I can grow in my new-found faith. And I look forward to the day when I will see you face to face. Amen”

If you prayed that prayer, please let us hear from you so we can rejoice with you. Please contact us here. Thank you my friend. Enjoy your new life!
